An appraisal is an annual, facilitated process of self-assessment that involves examining a doctor’s full scope of work.

During this session, the doctor has a chance to review your accomplishments and challenges from the previous year, reflect on lessons learned, and draft new objectives for your personal development plan.

It also provides time to consider future aspirations and learning needs. To successfully conduct an appraisal, a meeting between you and the appraiser has to be undertaken.
